Orthodox Chaplains

For any who might be interested, THIS is a PDF document which contains a list of ALL Orthodox clergy serving in the United States Military (along with some cool pics). I have sent an email to all of those who had email addresses listed, thanking them for their service to our men and women in the military.

I find it to be a positive means of getting my frustrations out...letting them know that most of us do not believe our soldiers are terrorists.

The Priest who is attached to Fort Lewis attends our parish sometimes (they also have liturgies on the base) and he and his family are a delight.

Oh, and to piggy back, my youngest son enjoys Father John Anderson because as he says "he does the Liturgy really fast".

hehe, he *does* do the liturgy really fast! Especially compared to our dear Fr. James. No, Mimi, I have not met him, but I've been at HR when he served.

I think it's funny that even when he's at the altar, vested, saying the liturgy, he is still *such* a soldier! He talks like a soldier, he moves like a soldier, he uses military references when he speaks to the congregation...

Ok, so next time you and he are here together, I'll introduce you.

He does have that miliary bearing, and I'm not particuarly in tune with that.

The document has a picture of Fr. Alexander Webster, who is one of the people directly responsible for our becoming Orthodox.

Hey James, that's a cool reference. I wonder that you didn't blow a gasket at this: "CHAPLAIN MAJOR JOHN ANDERSON (above left) speaks to a Mullah Shura (a local synod of 80+ muslim clergy) in the town
