The Beast
Well here is the link obnoxiously made available sometimes at the bottom of my Haloscan commenting feature...I'm gonna have to figure out how to get Blogger's commenting to work on my page.
Anyway, its all very cute and "scary" but really nothing terribly exciting. Jesus never existed...ooooohhh....what a revelation! These folks are brilliant! You can go to their forums and read all about the great conspiracies of how the church picked the books of the Bible, how the gospels were written decades after Jesus is supposed to have died, how there were other gospels that were rejected, and that we don't have the ORIGINAL manuscripts! Absolutely stunning! My faith is collapsing as we speak! I never knew these things....oh wait a minute...a lot of these facts are what lead me to become Orthodox!
Actually the sad thing is that these people feel the need to take their time and energy to do this film.

"The Ignoramus"
Scheduled for 4/1/08
It is about a novel young film maker who discovers conclusive proof that he has no life and that all his vast efforts at toppling people's faith in Christ is retarded and a terrible waste of his time and energy.
Terrorified by this sudden lack of his life's mission, the filmmaker begins to try to put his life back together again. Despite having lost a good deal of time and money in registering, maintaining, and advertising a website in order to make his project appear more illustrious than it could ever hope to be.
But fundamentalist atheists, seeing the filmmaker's realization that he ought to perhaps leave religious people's beliefs alone and carry on with his own life, will stop at NOTHING to stop the filmaker from stopping.
The whole trailer wouldn't have irked me in the slightest if they hadn't used the icon of Christ (one of my favorite icons at that) in a most horrific and irreverent way.
XK
I meant to note that as well...as I watched I kept thinking: HEY! That's OUR Icon!
It's really weird. I've seen some fundamentalist Christian boards, and the movie boards *are exactly the same* in a mirror-image. You'll find apocalyptic conspiracy theories, the referencing of shoddy "research" or the misuse of some scholar's argument, and so forth.
Thank God for the Orthodox Church
