Hold the Ground

Received a joke email with little "words of wisdom" that icluded this gem:

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

It reminded me of the Church and thus the derogatory accusation of being stuck in the past or "not in touch with modern tendencies" seems okay with me.

Holding the gound. Nutty.

Having just spent the last four days in a cabin with a Baptist Pastor (My father) and the rest of my evangelical family, this short and underestimated post brings me great comfort.
