Cannot be condoned

A few comments ago I asked if anyone had heard if the Orthodox Church had made any sort of stand on Terri Shaivo's case. Well here the OCA speaks. I cannot find anything from the Antiochian or Greek Archdiocese.

My priest certainly made a stand after the Pre-sanctified liturgy last night. I don't know that his view (consistent with that of the OCA) is necessarily indicative of that of our Archdiocese, although I don't know how our bishops and metropolitan could see it any differently.

Or (dare I bring up the infamous List in civil conversation?), check out the Vladyka Tikhon's comments:

Seraphim...great addition, thank you.

Erica, you brave the Indiana List??? Is that really Bishop Tikhon????

There are alot of arguments that could be made against much of what was written there...precisely why I don't go to the Indiana List.

But I cannot resist saying that if indeed that was Bishop Tikhon he ought to have known better than to be so one sided on this, especially in regards to this:

"the protectors of the institution of marriage, like Ann
Coulter, want to be involuntarily divorced from his wife"

Ummm, yeah, the guys is still living his marriage vows with Terri isn't he?

I've heard a lot of talk from people being angry for Terri's husband being demonized, but here we have "Bishop Tikhon" demonizing the people trying to save her. What the hells the difference? Except the goals of those being demonized.

I would really like to know if that was truly Bishop Tikhon that said all that.

sigh...I hate the Indiana List.

Finding other posts from "Bishop Tikhon" there, I really hope it is not him...they seem quite unbecoming.

I am sorry to learn it is him. Like all the rest of us, I suppose a bishop is afforded a right to his own blatant and public political opinion, but then again most of us aren't putting little crosses next to our signatures.
