I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend in Kentucky - and fell in love with sweet tea, the accents, and fireflies.

no kidding, I was just at the Pyramid Alehouse for a friday lab outing and a fellow patron stopped to ask about my shirt - turns out he went to UK and graduated in 98.

Small world.

I greatly desire to get my kids our there to visit family and to taste our roots.

Bourbon distilleries are a motivating factor as well, but don't tell my wife.

Somehow, I didn't end up at a distillery, but there's always next time.

Tempt her with sweet tea - It's honestly amazing.

If you ever need a place to stay in the Lexington area, drop a comment at my (now defunct) blog. Don't expect to see much blue around our house, though. I'm both a UT graduate and a realist, so I can't even pretend to be a Wildcats fan during football season. Go Vols!
