Some uplifting Orthodox news

Moscow and Church Abroad to officially reunite on May 17th

Glory to God! Indeed a momentous occasion.

Romania and Bulgaria have entered the EU and this could be very beneficial to the Orthodox Church (and the growth of Orthodoxy in Europe.)

Actually the second piece of news is a complete disaster, as EU membership for eastern European nations means becoming economic vassals of countries like France and Germany, along with unrestricted immigration, mostly Muslim AND the EUs "progressive" view of homosexuality and other societal ills. Couple this with the unspoken (and occasionally spoken) opposition of EU policymakers to traditional Christianity, you have a win-lose situation, with the eastern European countries on the loosing end.

Well you bring up a good point Rade...the last thing countries in the vicinity of the Balkans need is an influx of Muslim immigrants.

I will cop to being rather ignorant of the interactions involved in being a part of the EU...save that apparently one has to "technically" give up making your own whiskey.
